Compliance you can rely on.
We are a reporting institution under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA), and we run a full compliance programme.
We follow section 19 of the Act, Bank Negara Malaysia's AML/CFT/CPF and TFS policy document for DNFBPs and NBFIs, and SSM's guidelines for company secretaries.
Our programme
Compliance officer
Our compliance officer, registered with Bank Negara Malaysia, oversees the programme.
Customer due diligence
We verify every client, director, shareholder, partner and beneficial owner before we act.
Risk-based approach
Every client is risk-rated; higher-risk clients receive enhanced due diligence and partner approval.
Sanctions screening
At onboarding and on every update, against the UN and Ministry of Home Affairs lists.
Ongoing monitoring
Share transfers, capital changes and changes in ownership are reviewed for anything unusual.
Suspicious transaction reports
Filed with Bank Negara Malaysia's Financial Intelligence and Enforcement Department.
Record keeping
Due diligence and transaction records kept for at least six years.
Annual risk assessment
We assess our money laundering, terrorism and proliferation financing risks every year.
What this means for you
- Before we act, we will ask for NRIC or passport copies, proof of mobile number and address, details of the company's beneficial owners and, sometimes, the source of funds.
- We verify your MyKad with a card reader.
- AMLA covers our work as formation agent, company secretary and registered office.
These checks are a legal requirement, not a judgement. Our full KYC policy is available on request.
